How Physiotherapy Can Help Relieve Disk Herniation
November 16, 2016

In a recent article by The New England Journal of Medicine, physiotherapy was proven as a successful treatment for a 29 year old woman who had a herniated disc. A herniated disc, if you do not know, refers to a problem with one of the rubbery cushions between the individual bones that stack up to make your spine (www.mayoclinic.org).
Instead of undergoing the invasive surgery to remove a portion of the disk or the whole disk, the patient decided to treat with physiotherapy. After 5 months of physiotherapy, an MRI showed extreme improvement of the herniation and was recommended to have follow-up appointments as necessary.

Physiotherapy is a non-invasive way to overcome low back pain, sciatica and disk herniation.
