COVID Considerations

COVID Considerations

Appointments look a little different under COVID-19. Here's what you need to know before your next visit!

As of March 1, Public Health Orders enforcing any remaining provincially-mandated COVID-19 precautions such as masking, screening, or capacity limits will be lifted. At the same time, private healthcare providers such as Craven SPORT services are encouraged to implement health and safety precautions that promote a safe and accessible clinical environment.

The following precautions will be upheld at CSS for all clients, including those seeking physiotherapy, strength & conditioning, and massage. We ask clients to recognize that these precautions are intended to be evolutionary in nature, and will be re-evaluated periodically as we continue, step by step, toward our new normal.

Health screening

All clients are asked to reflect on how they are feeling prior to attending an in-person appointment at CSS.

If you experiencing any of the following symptoms on the day of your appointment, please contact our team to discuss temporary alternatives to in-person care. In many cases, we are happy to seamlessly transfer your appointment to virtual, using our ‘Craven CONNECT @ HOME’ online platform.

  • Fever of 38C (100.4F) or higher
  • New or worsened cough or shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • New or heightened congestion
  • Muscle aches, joint pain, or heightened fatigue related to the flu
  • New loss of your sense of smell or taste

Masks

CLIENTS: Masking will become optional but remain welcomed for clients in all CSS facilities.

TREATING STAFF: All treating staff (physiotherapists, strength & conditioning coaches) will follow the philosophy of ‘client-directed masking’ while working in close proximity to their clients. This means that our team will follow their client’s lead to ensure a comfortable experience receiving care. Staff will have the option to remove their mask while working closely with clients, only while within their treatment room/exercise zone, and following the ‘go ahead’ of a client who has elected to do the same. If a client is wearing a mask, a treating staff member will do so at all times as well.

NON-TREATING STAFF: Masking will be optional but welcomed for staff who are not working in close and/or extended proximity to clients (such as administrative team members, or those who are on lunch breaks, completing task work, etc.).

Note: While some front-desk staff may elect to work without a mask, we strongly encourage clients who would prefer to interact with these individuals while masked to simply let them know. They will always have a mask nearby and will happily wear it at any point during your payment or booking process.

MASSAGE: Please note that our massage therapists will continue to implement a masking policy that feels appropriate to each therapist’s practice. Both Lakyn and Karlyn will continue wearing a mask at all times. Karlyn will ask that her clients continue to wear a mask at this time. Lakyn invites clients to choose whether or not to wear a mask at the onset of their appointment, but note that they may be asked to wear one for certain treatment approaches within the appointment.

Facility considerations

SANITIZING: Ongoing and frequent sanitizing of surfaces, treatment rooms, and equipment will be continued.

EXERCISE ZONES: 2m exercise zones will be maintained in both the Training Centre and Main Clinic gyms to promote ongoing physical distancing between clients.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Additional facility adaptations – including waiting room spacing and floor markers – will be maintained to help distance clients during waiting periods.
