What should I wear to my appointment?

In most cases, we will need to assess how you move, so wearing or bringing workout wear is a good idea; however, we do have shorts available in the clinic to borrow if needed.

What should I expect during my first visit?

The first visit is always an assessment – it is where we listen to your story and find out your wants and needs. We figure out what the problem is and what kind of treatment plan you will need. We will watch how you move, ask about your pain and injuries, ask about your goals, etc. We will help you to reach an understanding of your injury and what your treatment plan will entail. You will leave your appointment with education about your injury as well as exercises that you will be able to start implementing right away.

Do you do manual therapy as part of the treatment?

Manual therapy means "hands on" therapy. Techniques can include joint mobilizations and manipulation, soft tissue massage, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and active release, and stretching techniques. One or more of these manual therapy techniques will be incorporated into your treatment.

What is strength and conditioning?

Strength and conditioning is a critical component of Craven SPORT services, whether you are here for physiotherapy or for personal training. It involves designing and implementing an exercise program that is tailored specifically for you, to alleviate injury and optimize performance. We provide many different types of strength and conditioning, including exercises to promote healing/rehab, challenging exercises to prepare for return to sport and prevent injury, general conditioning, athletic screening, posture improvement, as well as exercises to promote overall life fitness. We tailor these programs to both individual and group/team training. Whatever your goals, we can help you get there!

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to encourage natural healing, improve energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body.
