Melissa Koenig

Melissa is a graduate from the University of Saskatchewan, having received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2006, graduating With Distinction. She went on to receive a Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2010, where she was awarded the N.W. Tymchyshyn Award for proficiency in clinical practice which is  presented to the graduate with the highest overall marks during their clinical practicums. Since graduating, she has also pursued ongoing education opportunities including: ISST Schroth Therapy certification program, Matheson FCE certification, McKenzie – Part A, Sport First Responder, Biomedical Dry Needling certification and pain management courses. Melissa has also sat on several provincial and national committees for entry to practice examination in the profession.

Professionally, Melissa’s passions include treatment of scoliosis across the age span, working with dancers in injury management and prevention. She also has extensive experience in the realm of rehabilitation following workplace and motor vehicle accidents, as well as disability claim rehabilitation management. 

Outside of work, Melissa actively participates in the sport of Irish dance, as well as having two young kids who are active in a wide variety of sports in the community including gymnastics, Irish dance, hockey, soccer and baseball. Melissa and her family enjoy traveling and she spent time in Japan teaching English prior to entering the physiotherapy profession.
