HOW WILL YOUR CHILD BENEFIT?

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

Strong Kids is an 8 week youth training program offered twice a week through one-hour sessions over 8 weeks. This program aims to provide youth ages 10-13 an opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of strength training with an emphasis on correct form and safety in training. Youth will train with Strength & Conditioning coaches at the Craven SPORT Services Training Centre. Strong Kids is open to all skill levels and abilities, whether you have had prior strength training or if it’s your first time. This program is open to all athletes, regardless of your sport of choice (even if that’s no sports at all)!

Stacey’s journey into exercise science began as a competitive figure skater and multi-sport athlete, participating in hockey, gymnastics, swimming, softball, and triathlon. Growing up immersed in sport taught her discipline, resilience, and the value of effective resistance training. These experiences shaped her athletic identity and sparked a deep curiosity about how the body develops, adapts, and thrives through proper conditioning.

That passion led Stacey to pursue a Ph.D. in Health Biosciences with a specialization in pediatric exercise science, as well as earn her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation.

Stacey is passionate about helping clients improve their wellbeing, health, and performance through exercise. She brings an encouraging, evidence-based approach to coaching and hopes to pursue teaching and research in the future.

Her research interests include youth resistance training and long-term athletic development. Stacey has contributed to research exploring the safety and benefits of strength training for children, helping debunk common myths and highlight how properly supervised resistance training can support healthy growth, confidence, and athletic development. Outside the clinic, Stacey enjoys spending time with her son, running, and drinking good coffee.
